This may come as a surprise to you, but I love wall sconces. One way to keep your self from doing that is to shop at places where you know their overhead is not excessive ? like bis shop or fancy neighborhood. Guess what? The overhead that is being charged in that shopping center is going to be built into the price of your purchase. And if you are shopping for lighting, even like wall sconces, the same logic applies. I regularly drive by 1st class real estate developments that have big light shops. Have you wondered where the money comes form to pay the rent? That?s right. Its already built in to the prices you pay. Look at buying your wall sconces online or from places that aren’t in the fanciest parts of town. The same light can often be found for much better prices.
Second, look at installing it yourself. I know not everyone can install wall sconces, a few skills are involved, so only do it if you know what you are doing. If you have some basic technical skills (and I mean real basic), take a look at putting a frame together yourself. If you do go to a retail framing place, they will undoubtedly charge you time and labor to set your picture in it?s new frame.
If you can do it yourself, go for it: you might be surprised at how good you really are at assembling things. Usually, all it takes to put together your own wall sconce is a few specialized little tools, some screws, a sturdy ladder and some hard work. Later on you will be extra proud of your accomplishment. For those who have more time then money, this is the better option.
Finally, saving someone else?s rent and doing it yourself are great pieces of advice but don?t matter when talking about simple wall sconce lighting. Simple wall sconces are the wave of the future. If you know all about wall sconces, you will be far ahead of the game and won?t have to worry about what real wall sconces cost anyway. Wall sconces are here to stay.
