If you have a really small home, like I do, ceiling fan lights are great. A small space implies insufficient ceiling space to hang a fan and and pendant lighting or flush mounted sconces. So the simplest solution – which is always the best, is to co-locate the fan and the light, and voila, you get a ceiling fan light.
